How to use a speed loader for an airsoft gun

What is an airsoft speed loader?

A speed loader is a useful airsoft accessory that makes reloading easier and more efficient. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced airsoft player, using a speed loader for your gun can help you reload faster and not have to miss any of the action.

The primary objective of a speed loader is to quickly feed BB pellets into the gun’s magazine. A wide choice of airsoft speed loaders can be found on the market, and they come in many different shapes and sizes. However, they all essentially have a very similar function and work in the same way.

Once you have selected the most suitable speed loader for you and your airsoft gun, there are several tips to consider when using them. After a little practice, you should find that speed loaders are not particularly difficult to use. Place over the gun magazine

To use a speed loader, begin by inserting it into the magazine of your airsoft gun. Place the tip of the speed loader over the top of the magazine and press down firmly until it clicks into place. This indicates that it is securely locked into position and ready to be used.

Add your ammunition

Next, hold down the release button on the side of the speed loader to open its chamber door. Now you should be able to insert BBs into the chamber. Once you've added enough BBs (typically around 30-50), close the chamber door and then gently remove the speed loader from your magazine. When it’s full you’ll feel a little extra pressure and there won’t be any room for anymore BBs. Now your airsoft gun is fully loaded and ready for competition.

Preventing wear and tear

One of the benefits of using a speed loader is that it can prevent wear to the top lip of the magazine. This is a potential problem that can be caused by manually loading BBs one-by-one.

It’s also worth keeping in mind when using a speed loader that if you try and load too many BBs at once, they may become jammed while loading into your gun's magazine, so be sure not to overload it. Additionally, make sure you always keep your speed loader away from direct sunlight or other sources of heat when not in use as this can cause damage over time.
